
Marauders Sweep Muskingum; Push Streak to Four

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville men's tennis team closed its spring trip to South Carolina on a high note Wednesday evening, sweeping Muskingum 9-0 and pushing its winning streak to four.
The Marauders started the year 1-3 but have improved to 5-3 thank to its recent run. During the stretch, the Marauders have won 31 of the 36 singles and doubles matches.
After taking all three doubles matches, Millersville's No. 1, Drew Slocum, breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jayson Hilborn. It was Slocum's fourth-straight singles victory. Donald Swantko won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Andrew Sorgi cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Mark Treires and Kyle Vallejo competed in the closest match of the day. The pair split the first two sets, but Treires came out on top, 6-2, 6-7 (5-7) (11-9).
At No. 5 singles, Dusty Speicher won 7-5, 6-2, and Erik Wright notched a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6.
The Marauders are off for more than two weeks as they return to action on March 21 at Chestnut Hill.
