Clermont, Fla. — The Millersville softball team got into the win column for the first time in 2009 on Sunday by scoring in the first five innings of a 7-2 victory over Grand Valley State.
Shaina Briel led off the bottom of the first with a walk and advanced to second when
Casey Coker reached on an error.

After
Jill Golomboski singled, junior
Lindsay Hosier tripled to right center field, driving in Golomboski. The timely hit gave Millersville a two-run lead after two innings.
Grand Valley State cut the deficit to 4-2 after four innings of play, but the Marauders took control in the fifth with a three-run inning. The Black and Gold benefited from two walks and a
Trisha Johnson single, which loaded the bases with no outs.
Ally Homa flew out to center field for the first out of the inning, but Hosier followed with a sacrifice fly that brought in
Dana Bozzetto and gave her a two-RBI day. Johnson would then score on another GVSU error, and Coker finished off the scoring by singling home Golomboski to make it 7-2 Marauders.
Mrakovich was 3-for-4 on the day with a triple and an RBI, while Coker and Golomboski scored two runs apiece. Senior
