Marauders Begin Indoor Season at Leopard Invitational

Easton, Pa. - The Millersville men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened the 2009-10 season at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette this weekend. The men's squad finished with 13 top-five finishes, while the women finished with five.
On the women's side, the Marauders were led by the sprinters and the jumpers. Senior Brittany Yanora had an impressive day, earning top honors in the 60-yard dash (7.24 seconds) and the 220-yard dash (26.07 seconds). Following right behind Yanora was sophomore Chrissy Savage, as she earned third place in the 60-yard dash with a time of 7.63 seconds.
Garnering a first place in the triple jump was sophomore Whitney Savoy, who landed a mark of 10.36 meters. Rounding out the jumps was junior Liz Herzog placing second in long jump at 4.64 meters. Junior Heather Miller threw for 12.49 meters in the weight throw to take fifth place.
Turning in top performances for the men were sophomore Anthony Adamski and junior Keith Ogden. The two took second and fourth place, respectively, in the 60-yard dash. Adamski turned in a time of 6.59 seconds, and Ogden finished in 6.62 seconds.
Adamski earned first in the 300-yard dash with a time of 32.40 seconds, followed by Ogden in fourth place with a time of 32.76 seconds. In the 880-meter run, senior Nick Sperry grabbed fourth place with a time of 2:04.60. Freshman Brian Nunn earned fifth in 2:15.56.
Senior Stephen Boyd placed second in the long jump, posting a 6.31 meter mark. He also nabbed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.92 meters. On the field, senior Avery Webster earned second in the weight throw with 16.29 meters. The Marauders also took second, third and fourth places in the shot put.
The men's and women's teams return to action on Jan. 15 at the NYC Gotham Cup.
