Springfield, Mass. - The Millersville wrestling team made its trek to Springfield, Mass., worthwhile Sunday afternoon, notching a pair of convincing dual meet victories over American International and Springfield Technical Community College to improve to 5-1 on the season.

In the two duals combined, Millersville won 16 of the 20 matches, and three of the losses came by forfeit. Millersville routed AIC 37-12 behind pins by 149-pound Mike Greck and 174-pound Shane Smith. 165 pounder Jeremy Brooks scored a 17-4 major decision. Sean Andel at 133 pounds, #J.J. Lester at 157 and Jason Foor# at 184 all scored decisions.

American International fell to 4-11 overall with the defeat.

The Marauders followed that win with an even more decisive victory against STCC, winning 45-9. John Andel and Reed got things rolling quickly by registering pinfalls in each of the first two bouts. Reed's came in just 40 seconds. Sean Andel, Greck, and Brooks won by forfeit. Lester earned a 15-9 decision, and Smith tallied his second pin of the day and team-leading 15th of the season in just 38 seconds. Raymond Bennett also pinned his opponent and needed just 53 seconds to do so.

With its fifth win, Millersville matches the 2007-08 season win total.

The Marauders will look for their third-straight dual win on Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg.
