Box Score
Millersville, Pa. – Amanda Nann converted a penalty stroke with just over nine minutes to play as No. 8 C.W. Post held off a pesky Marauder team by the score of 1-0 in a driving rainstorm caused by Tropical Storm Hanna at Chryst Field at Biemsderfer Stadium Saturday morning.
Nann's penalty stroke was the first shot on goal of the game for the Pioneers (3-0, 1-0 PSAC East), who were outshot 12-6 overall, and 7-2 in shots on goal.
Millersville (0-2, 0-1 PSAC East) had a chance to get on the scoreboard with five minutes left in the first half when senior #Renee Fraker# was awarded a penalty stroke, but she was stopped by Pioneer goalkeeper Cortney Colern.
After Nann put C.W. Post ahead, the Marauders nearly tied it 35 seconds later, but a shot by sophomore Emily Woodland hit the post.
Millersville had one last chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but Fraker's shot was blocked, and the Pioneers held on for the win in their inaugural PSAC contest.
Millersville will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, when they play host to Kutztown in a PSAC contest. Game time is 4 p.m.
