FROSTBURG, Md. --- The Millersville University field hockey team (7–7, 3–3 PSAC) dropped a 4–0 decision on the road to Frostburg State (3–11, 1–5 PSAC) Saturday afternoon. The loss marked the Bobcats' first conference win of the season as Millersville was unable to convert on its offensive opportunities despite an 11–8 shot advantage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Millersville controlled possession early, generating four shots and two penalty corners in the opening quarter, but Frostburg goalkeeper Emma Price stood strong in the cage. The Bobcats broke through within the first minute after the halftime break when Emma Price scored the first goal of the game to give Frostburg a 1–0 halftime lead.
Frostburg extended its lead shortly after halftime, with Paige Leitzel finding the back of the cage twice within a 10-minute span. The Bobcats added an insurance goal in the fourth quarter as Price netted her second of the afternoon, assisted by Leitzel, to secure the 4–0 final.
Despite several attacking pushes in the final frame, Millersville was unable to capitalize, as Frostburg's defense and goalkeeper held firm to preserve the shutout.
