Marauders Drop Two on Day One of Dutch Country Spiketacular

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville University women's volleyball team fell to undefeated West Chester Friday afternoon by a final of 3-1 and later dropped a 3-0 decision to Dowling college on the first day of action at the annual Dutch Country Spiketacular held at Millersville University.
The Lady Marauders ran into two very tough opponents early on in their schedule as West Chester improved to 6-0 on the season and Dowling ran their winning streak to 22 straight games, dating back to 2003, in the Spiketacular. The losses drop the Marauders to 0-3 to begin the season.
Millersville was lead by freshman #Allison Huss# in game one versus West Chester as she delivered a team-high 10 kills. Contributing defensively were freshman #Devin Fortney# and senior #Laura Navin# who came up with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
In game two, junior #Meredith Sinback# picked up a team-high 10 assists to lead the Marauders.
Other winners on day one of the Spiketacular included Adelphi, Shippensburg and Wilmington.
The Marauders will play their final match of the tournament tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 beginning at 12 p.m versus Wilmington.
