Marauders Collect Second Straight Win

Greensburg, Pa. – The Millersville University women's hockey team, fresh off its' first victory of the season Saturday, built a 2-0 lead at halftime and held on to defeat host Seton Hill, 4-2, Tuesday afternoon.

The Marauders (2-5) struck early in the contest as junior midfielder #Meredith Dolinger# scored her first career goal twenty-six minutes in to put the team on top, 1-0.

Just two minutes later, sophomore defender #Kayla Weiler# found junior forward #Kristie Testa# for her third goal of the season. The assist was the first of Weiler's career.

The Marauders delivered 12 shots in all in the first half compared to just four for Seton Hill.

The second half saw much of the same as Millersville built a 3-0 lead just under 15 minutes in.. Junior defender #Krista Bupp# scored her first career goal on a penalty shot.

After SHU got on the board to cut the Marauder lead to 3-1, Millersville's #Jessica Cave# pushed the lead back to three with a goal at the 60:08 mark. A Seton Hill goal with just under five minutes to play ended the scoring and created the final 4-2 score.

Millersville outshot Seton Hill for the game, 23-11 and also held the advantage in corners 14-5.

Millersville freshman goalkeeper #Sara Dickinson# gave up just one goal and had six saves in 60 minutes of work. #Jessica Heckman# played the final 10 minutes for the Marauders.

The Marauders will look to win their third straight contest when they travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, September 27, for a 1 p.m. start.
