Box Score

Kutztown , Pa. - The relentless offense of the No. 4-ranked Kutztown field hockey team proved too much for Millersville Wednesday evening as the hosts scored four unaswered goals to pull away for a 5-1 win over the Marauders in PSAC Eastern Division play.

Millersville goalkeeper Sara Dickinson (Millersville/Lancaster Mennonite) made a career-high 15 saves including 10 in the first half alone, but Kutztown still managed to put five goals on the board. The Golden Bears totaled 23 shots to Millersville's six and also totaled 15 penalty corners while the Marauders earned one in each half.

In the first meeting of the season between the two squads, Millersville jumped in front with three goals in the first half before falling 5-3. Wednesday's contest started the same, with the Kristie Testa (Lititz/Lancaster Catholic) scoring her fifth goal of the season just 15:13 into the contest on an assist from Amie Mowery (New Oxford/New Oxford).

The score remained tied until Kelly Healey scored two minutes into the second half. That sparked a four-goal second period for the Golden Bears in which four different players scored a goal.

Millersville falls to 4-8 overall and are still looking for their first PSAC East victory in six tries. Kutztown, meanwhile, runs its record an impressive 12-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference. The Marauders return home on Saturday, Oct. 11 to host Mercyhurst in a PSAC crossover contest at 9:30 a.m.
