Marauders Fall to No. 10 C.W. Post, 2-1

Brookeville , N.Y. – The Millersville University women's field hockey team could not overcome an early 2-0 deficit and eventually fell to C.W. Post by a final score of 2-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

The tenth-ranked Pioneers (6-4, 2-2 PSAC) picked up both of their scores in the first 11 minutes of the game. Amanda Nann scored just 5:11 into the match, and five minutes later Kaurey Foley punched in her first goal of the season to produce the early lead.

Millersville (4-7, 1-5 PSAC) was held scoreless until the 60 th minute when they picked up a fast break goal from sophomore #Emily Woodland# to cut the Pioneer lead to one. A shot by junior midfielder #Meredith Dolinger# with under four minutes to play was blocked that would have tied the game.

The Marauders held a 12-11 advantage in penalty corners but were outshot by the Pioneers, 10-7.

The Lady Marauders hit the road again on Wednesday, October 8, when they travel to Kutztown for another PSAC matchup beginning at 7 p.m.
