Shippensburg, Pa. – The No. 3-ranked Shippensburg field hockey team received four goals from Kim Davies and handed Millersville its second-straight loss Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Raiders totaled five first half goals and cruised to an 8-0 win.
Millersville (5-10, 0-7) has faced the No. 2 and No. 3-ranked teams in Division II in the last three days. Both games end with the Marauders going scoreless, however. After failing to record a shot against Bloomsburg, Millersville mustered five shots including three on goal Thursday against Shippensburg. Shippensburg goalkeeper Amanda Houser was up to the challenged and stopped all three shots for a shutout.
Davies scored added two assists to her four goals. She tallied two in each half. She also took seven of the team's 21 shots.
Millersville goalkeeper Sara Dickinson stopped nine of the 17 shots fired on goal, giving her 27 saves in the last two games. She has recorded nine or more saves in seven games this season.
While the Marauders have lost four of their last five games, all four losses have come against teams ranked in the top 10 in Division II. The team will look to snap its two-game skid Saturday when it hosts Mansfield at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
