
Marauders Eliminated at PSAC Championships

Bloomsburg, Pa. - Each member of the Millersville men's tennis team competiting in this weekend's PSAC Individual Championships in Bloomsburg, Pa., were bounced after the first round of competition.
The Marauders' doubles team of Andrew Sorgi and Drew Slocum dropped a tight 9-8 match to Bloomsburg's Alan Hummel and Mark Schroeder in the first round.
In singles action, Marty Makowski fell 6-1, 6-1 to top-seeded Tim Hansson of Mercyhurst. Slocum was downed by third-seeded Arpit Sharma of Kutztown in a tightly contested match. Slocum took the first set 6-7 (7), but fell in the second 6-2. Sharma took the deciding set 10-6. Donald Swantko dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match to No. 2 Fernando Perez. All three athletes that defeated Millersville players moved on to the semifinals and will be in action Sunday.
The PSAC Championships continue Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.
