The first and only NCAA Division I All-American in Millersville wrestling history,
Tom Barley amassed 108 career victories in his outstanding collegiate career (one year at Penn State and three years at MU). His 108 triumphs are third on the MU career chart.

He also won the 1992 East Regional title at 142 lb. and placed fourth in the prestigious Midlands Tournament in suburban Chicago in his senior year (1993).
In 1991, Barley set a MU school record for victories in one season (39, now ranked #2 behind Jim Schopf’s 43-win standard set in 1995). He was 39-11 overall in ’91 with a sterling 16-2 dual meet record.
Barley was a two-time winner of the Theodore H. Rupp Award as MU’s outstanding grappler (1991 & 1993), and also earned the Elwood J. Finley Award in ’93 as the University’s outstanding senior male athlete.
During the 1998-99 academic year, Barley served as assistant wrestling coach at Elizabethtown College.
Barley earned a bachelor's of science degree in business administration in 1993.
