Ryan Brink burst onto the Millersville baseball scene in 1997, winning PSAC Eastern Division Rookie of the Year by hitting .341 with four homers, setting the stage for one of the most distinguished careers in school history.

In four seasons, he posted a career batting average of .360 and set Millersville career records in seven offensive categories, including runs (167), hits (220), doubles (56), and home runs (26). He was also a standout with the glove, recording a school record 1,142 putouts at first base. Following his rookie of the year performance in 1997, he led the 1998 squad with 67 hits, 51 RBIs and 51 runs while hitting a school record 14 homers and recording a record 131 total bases. Brink also hit an impressive .416 and slugged a single-season record .814 in 48 games. He was named All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team for his efforts.

With his offense leading the way, the Marauders won a then-school record 38 games, a PSAC Eastern Division Championship, and then breezed to an NCAA Division II North Atlantic Region Championship and into the Division II World Series for the first time in school history.

Two years later, as a senior, Brink batted .326 with eight homers and 30 RBIs, and the Marauders won the PSAC East once again, qualified for the NCAA North Atlantic Regional for a second time in three years, and snapped the 1998 team’s record for wins by posting a 45-14 record. During Brink’s four-year career, the Marauders posted a 133-66 record, which was more wins that any other four-year class in Millersville history.

After his stellar playing career, Brink earned a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology in 2001 while working as an assistant coach with the team. He also served as an assistant at Messiah College and Carlisle High School in the following two years. Brink and his wife Jennifer, who graduated from Millersville in 1999 have two children, Jackson and Grace. The family resides in Carlisle, Pa., and Brink is the lead electrician for Stephen D. Brink Construction.
