One of the earliest stars in Millersville's galaxy of exceptional 			wrestlers, 
Glenn Flegal helped set the standards for Marauder mat 			excellence by his leadership and dedication.
During his four-year varsity career, Flegal compiled an 			outstanding 50-6-2 record; of those six losses, half were during his 			freshman year and all were to eventual national collegiate champions.
Flegal was a three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference 			champion, winning in the 123 lb. weight class in 1952 and at 130 lb. the 			following two years (1953, 1954).  He was named as the Outstanding 			Wrestler of the '54 PSAC Championships and twice earned Middle Atlantic 			AAU championship honors (1953, 1954).  He was also the first Millersville 			grappler to win a title in the old 4-I Tournament, in 1952.  A two-year 			team captain, Flegal received the Theodore H. Rupp Award as Millersville's 			top grappler after his senior year.
During his undergraduate years, Flegal was vice president of his 			sophomore class (1951-52) and was a member of the Varsity Club.
The Clearfield, Pa. native served 37 1/2 years with distinction as 			a wrestling official in the high school, collegiate and AAU ranks.  Among 			the primary events he officiated were the AAU Junior and Senior Eastern 			Championships and the NCAA Division III Championships.
Flegal has earned election to numerous halls of fame, including 			the following:  Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches (1979), District 3 			Wrestling Coaches (1979), South Central Chapter, Pennsylvania (1992).
Following his graduation from Millersville, Flegal excelled as an 			educator and spent nearly all of his 35-year academic career with the 			Carlisle Area School District.  He is a lifetime member of the Carlisle 			Area Teachers Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, 			and the National Education Association.
He received the Plainfield Lions Club's "Man of the Year" Award in 			1995 and the following year, he was named a Melvin Jones Fellow by the 			Lions International Foundation for dedicated humanitarian service in the 			fight against blindness.
Flegal was honored in June, 1995 when he received the MU Alumni 			Association's Distinguished Service Award.
In addition, Flegal served his country as a sergeant (first class) 			in the U.S. Army Reserves for nine years.
Glenn and his wife, Mona, have three children: sons Dan and 			Tim, and daughter Susan.
