A versatile and dynamic offensive player for the high-flying Marauders of the 1960s, Frank Oslislo scored 1,538 points and set a Millersville record for career assists that stood for 22 seasons. Oslislo and fellow hall of famer Phil Walker remain the only Marauders to rank in the top 10 in career points, rebounds and assists.

From 1963-67, Oslislo averaged 15.9 points per game over 97 games played. His 533 assists remain second all-time, and his 5.5 assists per game is an impressive figure considering that no other player has averaged over 5.0 assists per game in a career. Oslislo did it all for the Marauders, grabbing 867 rebounds, an average of 8.9 per game, which ranks sixth in Millersville history.

Utilizing the 6-foot-3 Oslislo’s play-making skill set, the scoring prowess of Roger Raspen, Budd Heim and Glenn Stitzel coupled with the defensive abilities of Joe Schneider, Coach Dick DeHart turned the Marauders loose during Oslislo’s junior season. A two-time team captain, Oslislo helped his junior and senior season teams set school records for wins in a season. In 1965-66, the Marauders went 19-7 as Oslislo scored 14.5 points per game and set a Millersville record with 7.5 assists per game—a mark that still stands. Millersville reached the NAIA District Tournament for the first time in nearly a decade that year.

As a senior, Oslislo was named first team All-PSAC, averaging 18.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and again led the team in assists. His play-making abilities helped the Marauders average an astounding 101.1 points per game. The team went 21-6 with an 11-3 PSAC record. It won the NAIA District 19 Tournament and advanced to the national tournament for the first time.

After graduation from Millersville, he served in the United States Navy for 20 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Following retirement from the military, Oslislo worked for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for 32 years, and the department’s visitor center at the Merkle Natural Resources Management Area was named in his honor. Oslislo passed away October 16, 2008 at the age of 63 following a long fight with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Oslislo, their two married children: Scott Oslislo (Jennifer), and Caree Oslislo-Wizenberg (David), and 5 grandchildren: Timothy, Megan, Hannah, Parker and Griffin.
