Andrew Marshall, a three-time All-PSAC East selection, assisted in lifting Millersville men’s basketball to unprecedented levels of success during his four-year career.

As the team’s floor general and point guard, Marshall’s squads posted an incredible 95-25 record, winning three PSAC Eastern Division titles and a PSAC Championship in 1987. He also guided the Marauders to three-straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

Marshall made an immediate impact on the program. As a freshman in 1983-84, he ranked third on the team in scoring and first in assists as the Marauders improved their win total by seven. The following season, he was named All-PSAC East Second Team by averaging 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 84.7 from the free throw line.

With Marshall at the helm, the Marauders—starting three sophomores and two freshmen—rolled through the PSAC East with a 14-0 record, reached the PSAC title tilt and the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in school history before finishing with a school record 27 wins. Consistency and efficiency was a mark of Marshall’s game. As a junior, he repeated as an All-PSAC East Second Team pick by averaging 14.4 points on 50.3 percent shooting and totaling 112 assists to just 55 turnovers. His team captured another PSAC East crown and a 24-6 record.

Fittingly, Marshall’s most memorable season was his senior year. With 13.8 points per game, 125 assists and 48 steals, Marshall garnered All-PSAC East First Team and All-NABC East District First Team recognition and helped the Marauders break through for the program’s first PSAC Championship in 31 years. In front of a Pucillo Gymnasium crowd, Marshall poured in 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Marauders topped California (Pa.) 100-94 for the conference crown. Following the tournament victory, the Marauders were ranked No. 1 in Division II. Marshall also sparked Millersville to its first NCAA Division II East Regional victory a week later with 20 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range against St. Michael’s.

As a performer in the postseason, Marshall is unmatched. In NCAA Tournament action, he still ranks as Millersville’s leader in points, field goals made, field goals attempted, 3-point percentage and steals. Marshall concluded his Marauder career with 1,486 points, ranking 13th all-time. He also ranks third in career assists and fifth in career steals. In 2000, Marshall was named as one of the Top 30 players in Millersville history.

Marshall followed his career at Millersville with a professional career in Augsburg Germany and a stint in the United States Army. He completed his bachelor’s degree in speech communications in 1994. Active in the community, Marshall worked with the Lancaster County Federal Weed and Seed program, Big Brother for Lancaster County, the Boys and Girls Club, Lancaster Community Unity Team and several task forces appointed by Lancaster County. Marshall also teaches Sunday school and is the director of men’s ministry at A New Beginning Bible Fellowship Church. He has also received service awards from Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the Lancaster City Crime Commission. Currently, he is the president and CEO of A&M Business Enterprises LLC based in Lancaster, Pa. Marshall and his wife Lisa are the parents of Ashley, Ariana and Isaiah.
