Biography

2015-16: Completed outstanding career with a scoring average of 81.8--a two shot improvement from the previous season and No. 2 average in program history...Team captain led the team to its first PSAC Championship...Was in the lineup for all 13 wins in program history including all five in 2015-16...The team's No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 score in all eight tournaments...Posted five top-10 finishes and finished no lower than 15th in any event...Set Millersville records with 64 rounds played and second in career scoring average...Ranked second in career wins with five...3-over-par 75 at the John Brown Intercollegiate was fourth-best round in program history...Took first place in a field of 42 golfers at the Kutztown Fall Invitational, posting back-to-back rounds of 80...Tied for 15th at the PSAC Championship...Shot a 12-over-par 156 at the Michael Corbett Classic for the fifth-lowest total in school history.

2014-15: Continued to cement her legacy in 2015 as one of the best golfers this program has ever seen and acted as the Marauders' No. 2 golfer as a junior...Named All-PSAC Second Team...Earned 10 top 10's, nine top 25's and one victory...Tied for first with Shannon Weber at the Millersville "Icebreaker" on March 29 to give herself four career wins, which is good for second in program history...That day, she turned in an 18-hole score of 83 and shared medalist honors with Weber...Her 2015 scoring average of 83.7 is second-best in program history and her career average of 85.9 is also good for the second-place slot in the Millersville record books...Tied her four 2015 regulars as the only ones to golf 20 rounds in a season in the program's history, four better than the previous mark set by Kendal Olear and herself in 2012-13...Owns three of the top 10 18-hole scores and four of the top 10 36-hole scores, including the top 18-hole score of 73 (+1)...That marvelous performance came in round two of the Michael Corbett Fall Classic on Sept. 15 and Wharton ended up tying for 10th out of 102 golfers in that two-day tournament...That was the most golfers Millersville faced all season in a single event...Her best 36-hole score of the season came in the same event when she turned in a 157 (+13).

2013-14: First Marauder women's golfer to win two tournaments in a season and three in a career...Set Millersville record for lowest 18-hole score (6-over-par 78) at the ESU Invitational on April 27...Set school record for lowest 36-hole score (15-over-par 159) at the ESU Invitational...Recorded an 84.3 scoring average, which was not only a 5.7-shot improvement from the previous season, it was the best scoring average in program history by two full shots...Catalyst for helping the team win three tournaments...Finished in the top 10 in seven of nine events...Cracked the top five in six events...Placed fourth at the Dickinson Invitational to start the season...Set a then-personal best score of 81 in the second round of the Clarion Fall Invitational...Repeated the second round 81 and tied for third at the Kutztown Fall Invitational...Finished as the runner-up to teammate Danielle Freed at the Gettysburg Invitational...Top Marauder finisher at the PSAC Championship, shooting a 24-over-par score and tying for 13th...Started the spring campaign by taking fourth place at the Eastern Invitational...Tied for eighth in the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational the following week...Captured first win of the season on April 22 at the Ursinus Invitational by shooting a 10-over-par 80...Recorded scores of 81 and 78 to finish at 15-over-par and in first place at the ESU Invitational on April 26-27.

2012-13: Led the team in top-10 and top-25 finishes and tied for the team lead in rounds played with 16...Six top-10 finishes was the second-highest single-season total in Millersville history...Eight top-25 finishes tied Amber Rohrer's record that was set in 2011-12...90.0 scoring average was fourth-best in program history...Posted seven rounds under 90...Made collegiate debut with an 11-over-par 85 and tied for first at the Pocono Intercollegiate Invitational...Tied for second in a field of 47 the next week at the Alvernia Invitational by shooting a 12-over-par 82...Led the team with a 26th-place at the PSAC Championships...Tied for second at the Millersville Invitational after shooting an 18-over-par 93...Posted a 15-over-par 85 to tie for fourth at the Ursinus College Invitational on April 16...Tied for seventh with a 16-over-par 87 at the ESU Invitational on April 21.

High School: Totaled five varsity letters in golf and softball...PIAA East Regional qualifier as a junior...Finished second in the Mid-Penn girls’ tournament as a senior...Competed most of her high school career against boys, she aver­aged 87.6 in five matches as a senior...Finished with lowest stroke average in age gruop of summer’s Harrisburg Area Junior Golf Association tour and posted a second-place showing in the HAJGA Tournament of Champions.

Personal: Daughter of Jim and Donna Wharton...Majoring in business administration.
