Erwin Sutton, a 2025 graduate of Lock Haven, joined Millersville's football staff as its running backs coach prior to the 2026 season.
Sutton, who started his collegiate football career at Bowling Green, played two seasons at Lock Haven before moving into the coaching ranks. He served as a graduate assistant coaching the running backs and assisting with strength and conditioning in 2024. He was elevated to the team's running backs coach in 2025.
Sutton's work with the running backs resulted in Damir Green earning All-PSAC East Second Team honors. His stable did not fumble the ball the entire season. His efforts helped Lock Haven win six games for the first time in 42 years. In 2024, he coached two running backs to 400-plus yards rushing.
Sutton completed a bachelor's degree in sports management from Lock Haven in 2025.
