Aubrey Kelly finished his seventh season as Millersville's defensive backs coach in 2013.
During his seven seasons, Kelly's secondary has totaled 57 interceptions and his players have finished as the team's top tacklers in four of seven seasons. Under his guidance, Julius Carter (2009), Brandon Shelton (2007) and Marcus Banks (2007) were all named All-PSAC East First Team and Gary Tillman was named to the second team in 2011.
In 2010, Matt Sutjak tied for the PSAC lead with five interceptions, and five different DB's picked off passes. Dan McClellan ranked near the top of the conference in 2011 with four picks.
For two years prior to his arrival at Millersville, Kelly was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Indiana State University. In 2006, Kelly was selected as one of 25 coaches to attend the NCAA Expert Coaches Academy in Miami, Fla.
Kelly has coached for Delaware State University (defensive coordinator), Elizabeth City State University (offensive coordinator/quarterback and receivers coach), Norfolk State (defensive coordinator), Clarion University (defensive coordinator/secondary and kickers coach), Salisbury University (secondary coach), Southwest Texas State University (receivers, tight ends and secondary coach) and Southern Connecticut State University (JV head coach). From 1998-2001, he was the head coach at Division III Newport News Apprentice School.
He has served summer fellowships for the National Football League’s Washington Redskins and Houston Oilers and is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and the Black Coaches Association.
Kelly received his bachelor's degree from James Madison in 1985.
