The most decorated field hockey player in the United States and current Team USA member Katie O'Donnell will lend her expertise to the 2014 NCAA Division II champs during the 2015 season as a volunteer assistant coach. O'Donnell joins a staff that includes NFHCA Division II Coach of the Year Shelly Behrens and Olympian Marvin Bam.

O'Donnell most recently helped Team USA to a Pan Am Games gold medal and has spent the last four years playing at the international level. She played in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England and is set to join Team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 2011 Maryland graduate boasts a lengthy list of international and collegiate awards and achievements.

She was named the Women's Sports Foundation Sportswoman of the Year in 2010 and USA Team Athlete of the Year in 2010 and won the Honda Sports Award two years in a row. O'Donnell was a two-time national player of the year and four-time ACC Offensive Player of the Year at Maryland.

O'Donnell, even while continuing her career on the pitch, started coaching by instructing and hosting camps and clinics.

The Millersville field hockey program has made three consecutive PSAC Championship game appearances and has made two consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, winning the national championship in 2014.
