LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After Millersville claimed the PSAC East title, the division's coaches voted Day Waters the PSAC East Athlete of the Year and Aamir Hurst the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year. Waters and Saraj Ali were also selected to the All-PSAC East First Team.
Waters is just the sixth Marauder ever named PSAC East Athlete of the Year, but it is the second season in a row that a Marauder won the award with Drew Stover winning in 2025. Hurst is the third Marauder to be named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year and the first since Caden Najdawi in 2022. Waters earned his first All-PSAC East honor while Ali landed his third, earning a first team honor for the second season in a row.
Waters, a three-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week during the season, finished his season ranked second in the PSAC in scoring average. His 571 points ranked 13th all-time at Millersville, and his 19.7 points per game average was the highest by a Marauder since 1993. Waters scored 20 or more points 14 times, shooting 34% from three and 82.2% from the line. But Waters impacted the game in more ways that scoring. He averaged 5.0 rebounds per game and proved a strong defender, ranking second on the team in steals and third in blocked shots.
Hurst was a menace on defense, earning the division's defensive athlete of the week award twice. Hurst often drew the assignment of guarding the opposition's top guard, and his efforts helped Millersville lead the PSAC in field goal percentage defense for the first time in the modern stat era, which dates to 2000. Millersville also ranked second in the PSAC in scoring defense. Hurst averaged 1.6 steals per game and was the only player in the East to rank in the top 25 in both steals and blocked shots.
Ali finished his career with a PSAC East postseason honor in all four seasons. He was the PSAC East Freshman of the Year at Mansfield in 2023, a second team selection in 2024 and now a two-time first team pick. Ali averaged 16.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while leading the PSAC in field goal percentage (.612) with the seventh-best mark in program history. Ali also ranked in the PSAC's top 20 in blocked shots.
Millersville posted a 20-9 record and was ranked No. 9 in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region rankings.
