INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - NCAA Division II and Make-A-Wish announced on Tuesday that Millersville University Athletics has earned an opportunity to grant a wish experience on campus because of its 2025-26 fundraising efforts.Â
This marks the seventh time that Millersville Athletics will host a wish experience for Make-A-Wish on campus. The funds were raised through the efforts of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which hosted a talent show, an on-campus youth sports day and raffle drawings at events. Millersville is one of just 16 Division II departments that earned a wish experience for 2026-27.Â
"We are absolutely thrilled to host another wish reveal on our campus, a privilege made entirely possible by the dedication of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the incredible $8,365.61Â they raised," said Larry Earnesty, Millersville University Associate Director of Athletics, who serves as SAAC supervisor. "Partnering with our local Make-A-Wish chapter is an immense point of pride for Millersville Athletics. This initiative does more than just bring a life-changing moment to a brave child. It also gives our student-athletes a profound opportunity to look beyond the scoreboard and be a part of something truly special"
Millersville will now partner with the regional Make-A-Wish chapter to match with an area child. In the fall of 2025, Millersville hosted 13-year-old Silas, a Lancaster, Pa., native as part of the baseball team's Black & Gold World Series and revealed that he and his family would attend the MLB World Series. Millersville has also hosted wish experience events in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023.
