ABOUT THE GAME
- Millersville has won four of its last five and improved to 7-3 at home with Wednesday’s one-sided win over Kutztown. The Marauders can keep that momentum rolling Saturday against a Bloomsburg program that hasn’t won at Pucillo Gymnasium since 2017. The Marauders sit a half-game behind West Chester for first place in the PSAC East while Bloomsburg is 2-8 in conference play. Bloomsburg did not score a win over a Division II program until a Jan. 7 victory over Shippensburg. The Huskies are coming off a 72-61 win over Mansfield at home on Wednesday. They had lost their previous three games by 32, 33 and 36 points. The Huskies are winless on the road.

- Day Waters continues to fill up the box score. His 28 points against Kutztown on Wednesday boosted his season scoring average to 20.1, ranking him second in the PSAC. Including his final 11 games of the 2024-25 season, Waters has scored in double figures in 27 of his last 28 games. He’s topped 20 points 11 times this season, and Millersville is 8-3 in those games. The Marauders are also 7-1 when Waters shoots better than 45% from the field. Only nine Marauders have ever averaged better than 20 points per game for an entire season, and no player has accomplished that feat since Mike Monroe in 1989-90. Waters is up to 1,225 career points and trails Jim Bishop (1956-60) by nine for 33rd on Millersville’s career scoring list. He is 15 from 32nd place. Waters’ 175 career 3-pointers already ranks eighth in Millersville history. He recently passed Khari Williams (2021-22) and trails James Sullivan (2017-22) by 14 for seventh place.
- Dante Weise has started the last six games and has made 50% of his shots and 4 of 6 from three. He’s been an efficient playmaker, totaling 19 assists (3.2 per game) while committing just nine total turnovers--four of which came in one game. Weise ranks second in the PSAC with a 2.6 assists-turnover ratio.
- Millersville is the PSAC’s top shot-blocking team, swatting 4.61 per game, ranking just ahead of Bloomsburg (4.31). Cesar Tchilombo ranks seventh, Saraj Ali ranks 13th and Day Waters is 15th. Ali has swatted four shots in his last three games.
- Millersville has received a spark from a pair of freshmen in recent weeks. Jase Holland played in just one game before Jan. 10, and he has since played in five in a row against PSAC East opponents, scoring in all five, blocking four shots and totaling five steals and totaling 10 of 14 shots while averaging just 11.2 minutes per game. Carnell Henderson has scored 11 or more points in four of his last five games. He set season highs with three assists and three steals at Lock Haven. After shooting 4 of 25 from three in the first 13 games, he’s made 9 of 27 (.333) in the last five.
- Bloomsburg has struggled on the offensive end, ranking last in the PSAC in both scoring and field goal percentage. It relies heavily on 3-point shooting it averages 7.0 makes per game, ranking ninth in the PSAC. Bloomsburg is a young team with six of its top seven scorers being first or second year players. Ries Naugle, a redshirt freshman, scored 30 against Edinboro.
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday is the 201st meeting between Millersville and Bloomsburg with the Marauders holding a 106-94 lead in a series that dates all the way back to 1906. Aside from a two-year hiatus during World War II, Millersville and Bloomsburg have played at least once each season since 1927-28. Bloomsburg won the first four games against Casey Stitzel in 2016-17 and 2017-18, but Stitzel has since bested Bloomsburg in 11 of the last 12 games, and the Marauders have won every game in Pucillo Gymnasium since 2018-19. Bloomsburg has won just three games at Millersville since 2001. Millersville has scored at least 84 points in the last six meetings at home with an average margin of victory of 27 points per game. Last season, Millersville lost 78-71 to a 2-12 Bloomsburg team on the road when it shot 2 of 21 from three and 37.1% from the field. The Marauders retaliated at home a month later with an 88-68 win.
