MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Following spring practices and the Black & Gold spring game, the Millersville football program announced its team captains and the No. 1 and No. 0 jersey recipients for the 2025 season.
The program selected senior defensive lineman Max Hostetter, senior safety Nick Romano, junior wide receiver Isaac Sines, senior wide receiver Kam Taylor, and graduate student linebacker Christopher Pierce as its team captains. Taylor is one of just 15 two-time team captains since 1970.
Hostetter is in his second season with the Marauders and started all 11 games on the defensive line last season, totaling 30 tackles and 2 1/2 tackles for loss. Romano, a four-year member of the program, led the 2024 team with three interceptions and ranked second with 61 tackles. Sines, the only junior named a captain, led Millersville with 44 catches and four receiving touchdowns last season. Taylor is a three-year starter and three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete with five career TD catches. Pierce, a PSAC Scholar-Athlete, is in his second season with the team after playing in 10 games in 2024.
For the last three seasons, the No. 1 and No. 0 jerseys have been awarded to players who exemplify Millersville football through their work ethic, leadership and performance on and off the field. The coaches award the No. 0 jersey, and the players select the No. 1 jersey. Taylor will wear No. 1 in 2025, and the coaches selected redshirt sophomore linebacker Bryce Beutler to wear No. 0. Beutler led the team with 72 tackles in 2024.
