Sydnor, Trujillo clinch PSAC bids at final meet before conference championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Marauders wrapped up the regular season of the indoor portion of the year at the Penn State Tune-Up, adding a pair of last-second PSAC Championship qualifiers ahead of the conference meet.

- Aubrey Sydnor had been knocking on the door for qualifying in the 400-meter dash for a couple of weeks now, and the senior finally broke through in her last chance. Sydnor finished the race in eighth place with a time of 59.18, putting her in the top 12 runners in the PSAC.
- It was a good day in the weight throw for 'Ville, with Sarah Hessler improving her mark and Seya Trujillo punching her PSAC Championship ticket. Hessler held her ground at third place in the conference while improving to a season-best throw of 53-5 while finishing 4th at the meet. Trujillo had a strong performance to earn a bid to the conference meet on the last call, hitting a distance of 47-10.
- The last significant result for the Marauders was Megan Malecki improving her personal record in the pole vault. The senior has been on a tear as of late, and after hitting the NCAA mark earlier this month, Malecki hit 12-3 1/2 on her second attempt.

- The Marauders head into the PSAC Championship with 24 qualifiers across 15 different events. The two-day meet starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1 and takes place at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa..
