MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Jon Shehan and the Millersville baseball program signed four high school seniors as part of November's National Signing Day. The four players will join the roster in the fall of 2026. The signing class includes: pitcher Grant Henderson from Martinsburg High School in West Virginia, pitcher Cole Moreau from Emmaus High School, pitcher Camryn Simes from Ephrata High School, and infielder Jason Stewart from Tri-Valley High School.
"This year's signing class is really small compared to years past," said Shehan. "We had to be conservative because we signed 15 in the 2025 class, and the NCAA may grant a fifth year of eligibility this year. Despite the size, we believe it's loaded with talent. Once again, David Baker did a great job as recruiting coordinator, inking four outstanding players. Eli Nabholz also played a critical role in signing the three arms in this class. His ability to develop pitchers is a huge point of emphasis for many of our recruits."
Millersville enters the 2026 season with just seven seniors, and three would be in line for the additional year of eligibility if legislation passes. In addition to the 15 freshmen the Marauders signed before this season, they also have 15 sophomores and redshirt freshmen.
Pitching and middle-infield athletes are always an emphasis in recruiting for Shehan and his staff. The early signees fill those roles. The staff has produced four All-PSAC East shortstops in the last six seasons, and at least one Marauder starting pitcher has earned All-PSAC East honors in each of the last 15 seasons.
"In terms of needs, our goal was two early impact righties and a lefty who could also contribute early in his career," said Shehan. "We didn't need a whole lot from a position player aspect, but we felt that Jason Stewart could be a shortstop with an impact bat. Anytime you can sign a player like that, you don't hesitate."
Grant Henderson | RHP
High School: Martinsburg (Coach Aaron Beiler)
Travel Team: Mid-Atlantic RedSox (Coach T.J. Hose)
Intended Major: Business Administration
Why Millersville? "I chose Millersville because of the Bond I felt with all the coaches and the connection I immediately felt on campus."
Goals: "My goals while playing at Millersville are to develop to be the best baseball player I can be, while being the best man and teammate I can be."
Shehan's Scouting Report: "Grant Henderson is a right-hander who has been up to 92. We are not crazy about rankings, but Perfect Game has him sixth overall in the 2026 class in the state of West Virginia. His stuff is super projectable. He throws a lot of strikes from a low three-quarter slot. And he mixes four legitimate pitches. Grant's athleticism and frame make him a guy we think can really make a significant jump in the next couple of years. Even though we see him getting a lot better, his ability to command different parts of the zone makes him a candidate for contributing early."
Cole Moreau | LHP
High School: Emmaus (Coach Jeremy Haas)
Travel Team: RCS Warpath (Coach Russ Canzler)
Intended Major: Business/Finance
Why Millersville? "I chose Millersville because I believe this coaching staff and team is the best fit for me and truly have the goal of making me a better player and human overall."
Goals: "To become a complete pitcher, not just gaining velocity and pitches, but to harness them to perfection to create a sense of hopelessness against every hitter I face."
Shehan's Scouting Report: "Cole comes to us from a very good Warpath travel program—the same program that Jason Stewart is a part of. Russ Canzler from Warpath, has sent us a bunch of quality players the last few years. It's been a great relationship for us. Cole is an excellent left-handed pitcher. We believe he's got a chance to be a starter over the long haul. His change-up is an excellent offering. He also has a good feel for a breaking ball. His fastball has quality sink and sits in the mid-upper 80s."
Camryn Simes | RHP
High School: Ephrata (Coach Adrian Shelley)
Travel Team: Artillery Scout (Coach Ajay Vulimiri)
Intended Major: Business
Why Millersville? "I chose Millersville because of the great business program, as well as the baseball program and their success, along with the top-tier coaches."
Goals: "I want to help lead the team to a PSAC title as well as make a deep run in the postseason with the big goal of winning the College World Series and be a big impact on the team right away."
Shehan's Scouting Report: "Camryn is a guy we've had our eye on for a long time. He came to camp as a freshman and comes from a program we are very familiar with—Adrian Shelly's powerhouse in Ephrata. He also trains at Full Reps— Eli's former place of employment and a training facility that many of our pictures have utilized. We've had a history of signing really good local talent, and he is the next one in line here. Cam throws in the upper 80s and low 90s. He's got a breaking ball he can throw in any count, and added a change-up that shows a lot of promise. He's one of the most competitive high school players we've seen in the past five years. He absolutely loves pitching in big games."
Jason Stewart | Middle Infielder
High School: Tri-Valley (Coach Brent Smith)
Travel Team: RCS Warpath (Coach Russ Canzler)
Intended Major: Applied Engineering/Business Management
Why Millersville? "I chose Millersville because it felt like the right fit for both my academic and athletic goals. The great coaching staff and close proximity to home made the decision very easy for me."
Goals: "I hope to make an immediate impact as a freshman, contribute and help to lead Millersville to an NCAA Championship, and to further develop my game and take advantage of the tools Millersville has to offer in order to play at the highest level possible."
Shehan's Scouting Report: "It's rare that you get to sign a shortstop that's as good offensively as he is defensively. Usually, those kids end up at a Division I program. I'm not sure if this is one of those cases where the transfer portal has allowed a really good player to fall into our lap or if he just got missed. That said, we are super excited to have Jason. He has a chance to stay at shortstop. Sometimes we sign shortstops because they're the best athletes on the field, and they can move around defensively. That might not be the case with him. Offensively, he showed some surprising power for his frame. He's also a fantastic young man with leadership capability."
