The Marauders, who finished last season above .500 at 16–13, look to make major improvements in Coach Kira Mowen's second year with the program. Although a young team, Coach Mowen has no doubt that this group will be an exciting one coming into the season. Of the 16 Marauders on the roster, 11 are underclassmen, with five being sophomores and six being freshmen.
Coach Mowen undoubtedly has her hands full with a lot of roster turnover and a handful of new faces taking the court in the 2025–2026 regular season. The Marauders return one player from their starting five last season, Morgan Mahoney, who is entering her senior year and is undoubtedly looking to land on an All-PSAC team for the first time in her career in the black and gold.
The Marauders face the Lincoln Lions, who ended last year with a record of 12–17 and were picked as the ninth-best team in the Cental Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) out of 12 teams. Lincoln University is led by interim head coach Alishia Mosley.
Fayetteville State, whom the Marauders face on Saturday, are a much different story when it comes to the CIAA. Fayetteville State finished last season with an astounding 21–8 record and were picked as the running favorite to take home the CIAA title for a third straight season. The top-of-the-conference heavyweight will be a strong early-season test for Mowen's young Marauders team.
