FLEETWOOD, Pa. - The Millersville women's golf team returned from a two-week hiatus and played the first of three events in the next five days, placing fourth out of six teams at the Kutztown Invitational.

Millersville shot 78-over on day one and 74-over in the second round at the par-70 Moselem Springs Golf Club track. It finished 37 shots behind the winning team, Bloomsburg. Bloomsburg erased a four-shot deficit to Kutztown and pulled away Monday with a nine-shot victory.

Ashden Stitt was the lone Marauder to crack the top 10, tying for ninth at 32-over. She posted an 85 in round two, which was a two-shot improvement from the first round. Erica Gerner started the second round in a tie with Stitt, but dropped to 11th place after shooting an 89. Sydney Barnes made the biggest improvement in the second round, shooting an 84 and jumping nine spots up the leaderboard into 13th. Sabrina Swope rounded out Millersville's scorers in 19th place.

Millersville plays in the one-round Alvernia Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday and closes its jam-packed week Thursday with a trip to Frosty Valley Country Club for the Husky Fall Invitational.
