Marauders honor seniors in double header dual

ABOUT THE MATCH

  • Millersville Wrestling will honor seven seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program. The graduating class includes Bryce Beatty, Danny Capozzoli, Tim Uhler, Matt Morris, Andrew Vogelbacher, Bishop McCoy, and Bruce Vaughan. The seniors, alongside the rest of the team, will go head to head with PSAC opponents No. 18 Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill. 

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Taylor Robinson has been consistent in the 133-pound weight class as he still holds on to his national ranking in 12th place. Robinson posts a 9–1 record to maintain his National Wrestling Coaches Association rankings. 
  • 13 Marauders have winning records this season.
  • Bishop McCoy (285) led the team in wins, posting a 17–8 record. McCoy has notched a career-best falls in a season totaling eight. He leads the team in this category and looks to secure more as there are five more regular-season duals. 
  • On the heels of McCoy, Bryce Beatty (125) boasts a 15–5 record. Beatty has logged four falls and one technical fall this season. The senior has also won his last six dual matches. 
  • Marauders who have stepped up and helped the squad have been Cael Rossi (133), Nick Cottone (141), and Marcus Gable (149). Combined, the three Marauders have clinched 20 bonus point wins. seven counting as falls. 
  • The Marauders hold an 11-4 overall record and a 2–1 PSAC record. Millersville seeks to keep the streak alive as they have won their last seven duals. 

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN CATS

  • Pitt-Johnstown holds the No. 18 spot in Division II wrestling. They have four nationally ranked Mountain Cats at 125, 157, 197, and 285.
  • Trevon Gray, a redshirt junior,  is ranked No. 11 in the 125-pound weight class. He boasts a 16-6 record. He has 11 bonus point wins off six tech falls, four falls, and one major decision. 
  • At 157 pounds, Cooper Warshel is ranked in 14th place. Warshel holds a 15-9 record, along with four tech falls and one fall. He has won the last six duals, two bonus point wins, and four gritty decision wins. 
  • Dakoda Rodgers is ranked No. 6 in the 197-pound weight class. Out of 17 wins, 14 were bonus point wins. The All-American finished inn 7th place at the NCAA Championships in the 2023-24 season. 
  • The final ranked Mountain Cat is Isaiah Vance. The 285-pounder is ranked No. 4 and accumulated an 18-3 record. He has recorded nine falls, one tech fall, and three major decisions in his respective weight class. 

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS

  • Seton Hill sits at a leveled 0.500 percentage logging a 7-7 overall record. 
  • The Griffin's most recent loss was to PSAC opponent UPJ, 39–6. 
  • Don Lindsey has held down the 125-pound position for the Griffins. He posts a 16-7 record, the highest on the team this season. Lindsey has totaled four falls, five tech falls, and four major decisions. 
  • Niko Ferra (141) holds a 10-9 record. He has tallied four bonus point wins from a pin, two tech falls, and a major decision. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • Millersville and Pitt-Johnstown have encountered each other 15 times. UPJ has won the last 12 duals, but the Marauders closed the gap in the 2023-24 season to only fall 29–12. Newer opponent Seton Hil has squared off with Millersville only 10 times. Seton Hill holds the overall 3-7 record, but Millersville has won the last two meetings. In 2022-23 Millersville prevailed 23–14 and in 2023-24 showcased a dominant 38–7 performance.
