ABOUT THE MATCH

  • Millersville wrestling wrapped up a two-month road stretch, going 2-3 in duals, and competed in the annual David Lehman Open at Franklin & Marshall. Last year at the Millersville Duals, the Marauders swept the competition 3-0. The schools included Thaddeus Stevens, Patrick Henry College, and Camden County. The event has expanded and will host eight teams, including Millersville, at the duals. The two returning teams include Thaddeus Stevens and Camden County. New competitors include American International College, Fairmont State, Felican, Alvernia, and Salem. AIC holds a season record of 1-6, with their only win against Southern Maine. Fairmont State posts a 3-9 record; the Falcons have dropped their last five dual meets. Felican's wrestling program has only competed in opens or multiple dual meets. A high-end Division III wrestling program, Alvernia recently won the MAC Conference Championship. Salem University holds a 1-6 record on the current season and lost their last two duals to ranked opponents.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • No. 12, Taylor Robinson (133) is the only ranked Marauder in the new ranking release.
  • 13 Marauders currently own a winning record.
  • Beatty owns an 11-5 record, alongside three falls and one technical fall. The 125-pound wrestler rebounded back into the win column at the Gannon Quad, pinning Caden Delwarte from Fairmont State.
  • Robinson owns an 8-1 record. The transfer from the University of Mount Olive has been a key piece in the Marauder line-up. The 133-pounder has won the five matches in his respective weight class.
  • Bishop McCoy wrestles in the 285-pound weight class and has a 12-8 season record. He leads the team in bonus point wins with seven, six coming from pins.
  • The Marauders have won their last two duals. The Marauders pulled off a 22-18 upset against No. 6 Grand Valley State University and a dominant 38-9 win over Fairmont State.
