KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Amanda Wolf's steady performance helped the Millersville women's golf team to a third-place finish at the three-day PSAC Championship--the team's best finish since 2015.
Wolf closed the first round in fourth place, and that's where she finished after 54 holes, posting a 6-over-78 in Sunday's final round. Taylor Hileman also recorded her best career finish at the PSAC Championship, tying for sixth after an 84 on Sunday.
Millersville entered the day in second place and remained in that runner-up spot until late in the final round. Millersville's four scoring golfers combined to shoot 27-over on the back-nine while Mercyhurst moved into second place with 14-over back-nine. Mercyhurst shot a 333 Sunday while Millersville shot a 336. That was enough for the Lakers to finish two shots ahead of the Marauders.
Gannon ran away with the championship for the fifth consecutive season, winning by 70 shots. Three Golden Knights finished in the top five with Ditte Petersen winning at 2-over-par. Wolf shot a 16-over for the tournament for her career-best 54-hole score. Hileman finished at 30-over, which was also a career-best for 54 holes. Charley Kirby finished 21st and Emma Schotsch took 22nd.
The Marauders completed their 2023-24 season with five tournament wins, tying the program record for wins in a season that was previously set in 2016-17.
