MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville, already shorthanded because of injuries, wrestled without their nationally ranked 133-pounder Devin Flannery and could not keep pace in the Battle for the Rupp Cup, losing to Franklin and Marshall, 38-7. 

Franklin and Marshall added 20 points to their team total with four starters missing from the Marauders' lineup. Millersville victors in the Rupp Cup were Bryce Beatty at 125 pounds and Jonathan Parrilla at 165 pounds. 

Beatty gave the Marauders their first and only lead of the night with a 13-5 major decision win over Eric Howe. Beatty was down in the first period 3-1 after an escape. He leveled the scoreboard in the second period with a reversal. In the third period, Beatty had two critical takedowns to secure the win, scoring 10 points in the period. 

Parilla scored early followed by Josh Palmucci's escape. Parrilla earned his two other points in the second period from an escape and a penalty against Palmucci. Palmucci accumulated three more points in the third period from an escape and two stalling points, but it was not enough as Parrilla took the 5-4 decision win over Palmucci.

• Thoughts on tonight's match: "Regardless of who we sent out there tonight, the scoreboard shows how the match went tonight. I believe we are better than that, it just did not show tonight. I feel like we wrestled hard in a lot of weight classes, but a couple weight classes we let slip away."
• Thoughts on Beatty's and Parrilla's performances: "Bryce showed a lot of guts. He wrestled hard and continues to wrestle hard. That is how we should be wrestling. Johnny pulled out a win over a hard-fought match."
• Looking forward to the Super Region I Championships: "This is where we are at right now. We must put something like this behind us and know what the next important thing is ahead and that is regionals. I do feel like we train hard and will be prepared for regionals."
