MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — Darian Hauf picked up right where she left off last spring in pole vault, taking home PSAC Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Bison Opener to start the season.
Hauf hit a mark of 12-9 1/2 on her first attempt to win the event. Not only did it put her at the top of the conference leaderboard after one meet, but she also hit the NCAA qualifying mark. The national mark was set at 12-2 1/2, which Hauf comfortably cleared. The senior tied her personal record with the jump, which also stands as the program record as well.
This is Hauf's second time winning the PSAC Field Athlete of the Week award, her first since Jan. 18, 2022. The former indoor conference champion and two-time conference runner-up is aiming to reclaim the PSAC title after finishing in second place the last two seasons. The accolade is another line on Hauf's already impressive resume, going alongside three All-PSAC finishes and three spots on the USTFCCCA Indoor All-Atlantic Region team just for indoor track and field.
Hauf and the Marauders have an extended break between the semesters, and will next compete at the Alvernia Winter Invitational at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 in Reading, Pa.
