
Four Marauders named CSC Academic All-District

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — The women's soccer program had four Marauders named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District®, doubling their amount from last season. These standout athletes were recognized for this award based on their athletic and academic success.
Madelyn Zielke, Hannah Blackman, Sabrina Zimmerman, and Aubrey Strohecker were all honored for their indisputable achievements.
The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes in three NCAA divisions and NAIA. Nominees must be a starter in 66% of the team's games, play in 90% of the team's overall games, and be a key performer on the field while boasting a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. A committee of CSC members will vote to move a select group onto the Academic All-America® ballot.
Zielke is a two-time recipient of the CSC Academic All-District® program. The senior has a 3.96 GPA majoring in sociology. Zielke started and played in 16 matches while recording a career-best nine points off four goals and one assist. Her dominant presence in the midfield helped Millersville generate success.
Blackman has received her bachelor of science in sports administration with a minor in pre-law and will graduate this spring with her M.Ed. in sports management. The senior finished with a 3.87 GPA in her undergrad and a 4.0 in her master's program. Blackman played in all 17 games this season and started in 16. Taking on the center back role, Blackman logged 1,347 minutes played while notching her first collegiate goal against West Chester (11/6).
Zimmerman is an occupational safety and environmental health major with a 3.62 GPA. The junior was the predominant starter for the Marauders in net tallying 13 starts and 14 appearances. Zimmerman made 38 saves on the season for a 0.717 save percentage. With experience under her belt, Zimmerman will return for one more season next year.
Strohecker is a business and finance major with a 3.62 GPA. Outstanding achievements in the classroom also transition onto the field as she started in all 17 games this season. Recording a breakout season, Strohecker led the team in assists (5), points (17), game-winning goals (3), and shots (34). She scored six goals, the second most on the team. The sophomore is making a name for herself as she has two more years left to build upon her academic and athletic achievements.
