SHIPPENSBURG, Pa - Millersville wrestling concluded the Shippensburg Duals posting a 1-2 record. Millersville started the day with a 39-6 loss to Gannon followed by a dominant 48-0 win over American International College and a 27-16 defeat to Mercyhurst.
Devin Flannery was flawless as he earned his 3-0 record along with one technical fall. Riley O'Boyle and Craig Cook both logged a 2-1 day with a major decision to add to their records. Avery Kuhns tallied his first pair of decision wins as a Marauder.
In the match-up between the Marauders and the Golden-Knights, Flannery and O'Boyle gave the Marauders their two wins. Flannery had an 8-3 decision win over Jeremiah Echevarria at 133 pounds followed by O'Boyle's close 11-9 decision win over Anthony Glassner in the 197-pound weight class.
In the shutout of American International, Dom Flatt (125) started off with an 18-1 technical fall over Liam Pritchard-Holland. Nick Bennet's (157) 17-3 major decision win over Kyrie Williams followed. At 174 pounds, Jonathan Parrilla captured a 16-3 major decision win over Joshua Nieroda. Tyler Hurst (184) and O'Boyle both logged major decision wins along with Kuhns' (285) decision win that helped finish out the dual.
Within the first four matches against Mercyhurst, the Marauders had the 9-7 lead thanks to Flannery's 18-2 technical fall over Nate Knowlton and Cook's (149) major decision over Bret Minnick. The Marauders could not catch up, however, after dropping three straight matches to the Lakers. Anthony Giampietro's (184) 14-3 major decision Vincent Scaramuzzino and Kuhns' 9-3 decision win over Christian Taylor helped close the gap.

HEAD COACH JERRY BOLAND'S THOUGHTS
Overall thoughts on today's meet?
- "We knew today was going to be a tough day of wrestling. Gannon and Mercyhurst are two very strong teams. We did a lot of good things and still have a lot to work on. We are having a some bad luck with injuries, so I give our guys credit for battling through that type of adversity."
Thoughts on how Avery wrestled and got his first wins as a Marauder?
- "Bishop getting injured was a tough blow to our lineup. And with Jordan already out, Avery got the call for our final two duals. He stepped up and got himself two wins. He wrestled hard for 7 minutes in both bouts and earned it. I'm super proud of him. It also shows our depth as a team. Guys like him, Dom Flatt, and Tyler Hurst all got into the lineup today and were able to pick up wins."
Key takeaways from the Ship Duals today?
- "The past two weeks really give our guys a gauge on where they need to be if they're going to make a push to get to nationals. We still have some big duals coming up as well. So we need to fix a few things and keep moving forward."
As a team, you are done traveling and have four upcoming home meets, what are you looking for in your team bringing it back home?
- "Definitely looking forward to wrestling at home over the next few weeks. We don't travel again until regionals so it will be nice for our guys to get some home matches and get healthy for the post season run."
