ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville comes into this game looking to snap a three-game losing skid after falling to No. 3 Gannon on Dec. 30. Seton Hill enters with a record of 6-5 overall and 3-2 in PSAC play. The Griffins lost a close game to Bloomsburg their last time out. That bout was also played on Dec. 30.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville looks to snap its short three-game conference skid and move up in the PSAC East standings. The Marauders currently sit at 1-4 in a three-way tie for sixth place with Shepherd and East Stroudsburg. A win could move them into a tie for third or fourth place, as six of nine teams in the Eastern division are within one game of each other.
  • The Marauder's offense will be focused on getting the ball to the members of their front court, namely Makiah Shaw and La'Shyra Williams. Shaw has been the team's leading scorer for most of the season, averaging 12.2 points per game. She's reached double-figures in nearly half of her games so far and has been the only player to top 20 points in a single contest. She's done so twice, scoring a career-best 26 against Cal U on Dec. 1 and pouring in 23 against Goldey-Beacom on Dec. 14.
  • Williams, the other half of that pair, is averaging 9.3 points per game while shooting an outstanding 58.8% from the field. Her contributions have also come defensively, as the redshirt senior is second on the team in steals and tied for first with Morgan Mahoney in blocks.
  • In addition to Sophie Elstone’s season-long contributions on the defensive end of the floor, she’s found her shooting stroke in the month of December. With the exception of a scoreless outing against Mercyhurst, Elstone’s reached double-figures in four of the last five games. She’s also led the team in scoring in three of those contests. Elstone and Shaw combined for half of Millersville’s 38 points against Gannon.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS

  • The Griffins feature a potent offense, as they have scored at least 70 points in every game this season. They are averaging a PSAC-best 78.6 points per contest and are led by a trio of double-digit scorers. First among that group is Senior guard Christiane Frye, who’s averaging 20.5 points per game in her 10 games played thus far. That mark is good for second in the conference.
  • Frye is also tops in the conference in steals per game at 3.3. She’s the only one topping more than three per contest in that category. On her team, that mark more than doubles that of second place. For this contest, she may be sidelined, however, as she didn’t appear in Seton Hill’s most recent game against Bloomsburg.
  • The other two members of that scoring trio are a set of sophomore siblings, Helene and Hallie Cowan. The first of the pair sits second on the team in scoring at 12.8 while Hallie ranks third at 12.5.
  • Looming in the paint for the Griffins will be six-foot-one Senior forward Sakeria Haralson. She’s first on the team in blocks at one per contest and rebounding at 7.9. Haralson had her best performance of the season against Bloomsburg, recording a double-double and setting a season-high in points with 17.

SERIES HISTORY

  • The Marauders hope to even the all time series against this PSAC opponent as they enter with a record of 3-4 in such contests. Since the Griffins joined the PSAC prior to the 2013-14 season, that mark is even at 3-3. Their record on the road is also even, as they are 2-2 in Greensburg.
