ABOUT THE GAME
  • Millersville field hockey hosts its first game at Biemsderfer Stadium this season as they welcome in Molloy University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10. The Marauders kicked off their season with a two-game road trip to New England, defeating No. 7 Saint Anselm College 3–1, but falling to Bentley University 1–0. Millersville has not lost consecutive games since 2019 and has not lost a home opener since 2008. The Marauders went undefeated in home games last season and have not lost at Biemsderfer Stadium since Oct. 27, 2021.
  • The Lions enter the matchup dropping both of their games to start and were outscored 2–12. Molloy is currently on an 18-game losing streak dating back to last season.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
  • Millersville returned four of their top eight scorers from last season, with Bri Harsh, Codi Bollinger, and Kortlin Yetter all returning for their fifth years, and Kristin Strijdom entering her senior season. All four had at least double-digit points.
  • Defensively, Taylor Geisel returned for a fifth year, and will be joined by seniors Caroline and Caitlin Wasserman, and junior Morgan Lennon on the back end.
  • In net, Kerstin Koons will assume the starting spot after starting every game for the last two seasons.
  • In Millersville's season-opener, senior Qhayiya Nogoduka scored a hat trick to propel the Marauders to victory. It was Nogoduka's second career hat trick, the first hat trick since her sophomore season.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
  • The Lions lost their two games to start the season by identical 6–1 scores, losing to No. 8 Adelphi and University of New Haven.
  • Molloy had six players record points last season and are returning all six. Their leading scorers, Devin Harkins and Gianna Mastrocco, each had three goals and six points.
  • Kelsey Price will start in net for the Lions, bringing a .647 save percentage into the game with 22 saves and 12 goals allowed on 51 shots faced.

SERIES HISTORY
  • The two teams have only met once, as the Marauders emphatically defeated the Lions last season 7–0. Millersville had five different goal scorers in the game, with Bri Harsh and Kristin Strijdom scoring twice, and Kate Strickland, Codi Bollinger, and Emma Zauck scoring once. The Marauders did not cede a shot to Molloy, outshooting the Lions 35–0.
