
Millersville Men’s Golf selected for NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Millersville men's golf team was selected as the number six seed in the Atlantic Region and will compete in the upcoming NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional tournament.
The rest of the field from the Atlantic region consists of Gannon, Indiana (Pa.), Davis and Elkins, Fayetteville State, Virginia Union, Charleston, West Liberty, California (Pa.) and Livingstone. The Marauders moved up five spots in the regional rankings following a seventh-place finish at last weeks Super Regional Preview.
The East portion of the regional consists of St. Thomas Aquinas, Le Moyne, Post, Assumption, Southern New Hampshire, Goldey-Beacom, Franklin Pierce, Adelphi, Wilmington, and Dominican New York.
This is the first regional appearance for the Marauders as a team since the 2021 season in which 'Ville placed 14th out of the 16 teams. In 2022 Bobby Lugiano received an at large selection to compete as an individual. He missed the cut for the NCAA finals by two strokes and will now look to lead the Marauders as a team in 2023. Lugiano has been the team's best performer this year, averaging just 74.34 strokes per-round. Sophomore Noah Keener and redshirt senior Christopher Knox have also consistently scored in the 70's across their 20 rounds of play.
This marks the tenth consecutive season that Millersville has appeared in the NCAA Atlantic Regional and the 18th regional appearance for head coach Scott Vandegrift who has led the program for the past 38 seasons.
Play begins Thursday, May 11 and runs through Saturday, May 13. Millersville is the host university for the Super Regional which will take place at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa.
