ABOUT THE GAME
- The No. 10 ranked East Stroudsburg Warriors travel to Millersville on Wednesday to face-off with the Marauders for their first conference game of the season. Millersville has played in five games this season, going 3-2 against their non-conference opponents and picking up wins against Holy Family, Georgian Court, and Wilmington (Del.). The Warriors are 3-1 this season, falling to No. 13 Pace on Mar. 14 with a score of 16-6.
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
- Millersville is entering Wednesday’s game coming off back-to-back wins at Biemesderfer Stadium last week against Georgian Court and Wilmington (Del.). The Marauder’s defense helped for Millersville to sneak by Georgian Court 14-10, and their offensive surge against Wilmington (Del.) led Millersville to a nine-goal victory.
- Three Marauders are leading the offensive end including Rachel Keeney, Hayden Corcoran, and Liv Genovese. Keeney leads Millersville in goals with 14, scoring four goals against Georgian Court and three goals against Wilmington (Del.). Corcoran leads Millersville in points with 19 as she has scored 12 goals while dishing out seven assists this season. Genovese has also tallied 12 goals this season and was a crucial player in Millersville’s win over Wilmington where Genovese scored five goals.
- Starting in goal for Millersville is Morgan Scott who has posted a .471 save percentage in the first five games of the season. Scott recorded 11 saves against Georgian Court and Wilmington (Del.) while scooping up 11 ground balls.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- East Stroudsburg enters this season with 19 returners from the 2022 team who competed in the Division II National Championship game. The Warriors have fallen just once this season against Pace University back on Mar. 4. In their most recent match-up, East Stroudsburg competed against PSAC West opponent IUP where the Warriors were victorious with a 13-10 score.
- The Warriors offense has scored 47 goals this season and hold a .778 shot on goal percentage. East Stroudsburg’s offense is led by Emily Mitarotonda who has scored 12 goals while dishing out three assists for the Warriors. Kiki Fitzpatrick is an effective attacker for East Stroudsburg as she has tallied eight goals while dishing out six assists. The Warriors defender, Maggie Sell, has picked up PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week after her performance in the first week of the season, Sell leads East Stroudsburg in ground balls (20) and caused turnovers (14).
