OVERALL THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH JERRY BOLAND

Thoughts on today's duals?
  • "I think we showed a lot of grit today. Without Dev and Bubba, we had a bunch of guys step up and get the job done. We also had some guys get wins that aren't usually in the lineup. So that says a lot about their work ethic and our depth. I'm just super proud of all of our guys."
Any key takeaways from today?
  • "We came here last year and West Liberty kind of beat us around. This year was much different. The team score looks a little lopsided but we were in every match late in the 3rd. The mentality of our guys has shifted and it showed today. We also picked up 3 wins, including two over teams in our region. Great day, overall. "
Any standout performances on the day?
  • "Many standout performances today. Bryce went 3-1. He bumped up against West Liberty and went toe to toe with a returning All-American. Micheli and Bennet also went 3-1. Both losing tight ones to nationally ranked wrestlers. G was also 3-1. He went down to the wire with the returning national champ. Bishop continues to wrestle with confidence, only losing a close match to a returning All-American. BC was awesome again today. Going 3-0 while taking out a returning All-American."
What are you looking forward to in the David H. Lehman Open?
  • "I think our guys are looking forward to some time off. They have been grinding for the past few months and have taken tremendous strides. They'll use the next 10 days to recover, physically and mentally, and enjoy some family time. When they get back, we will look to get ready for the open."
