Millersville chosen seventh in PSAC East's Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches poll

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's (PSAC) 2023-24 preseason poll for women's basketball was released Thursday afternoon. Millersville was ranked seventh of nine teams in the Eastern Division.
The Marauders feature a host of newcomers this season, including their entire coaching staff. Head Coach Kira Mowen was hired this summer to lead the program coming off a NCAA tournament run with Division III Knox College. Assistant Coach Brett Vana was a member of that coaching staff and made the move as well.
"I appreciate this opportunity to compete with my young women in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference," Mowen said. "We're preparing to have a great season and I'm excited to see what this year holds for us."
West Chester was the clear Eastern Division favorite according to the poll, with eight of nine possible first place votes. Kutztown garnered the other vote and ranked second. Cal U was picked to win the West with five first place votes.
The Marauders' 2023-24 season begins on November 10 at 7:30 pm when they travel to Richmond to take on Virginia Union. They enter conference play on December 1 when they host Cal U at 3 pm.
