SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team (0-3-1, 0-2-1 PSAC East) finished its road match at Shippensburg (0-3-1, 0-2-1 PSAC East) in a 1-1 draw with the Raiders.
All of Wednesday night's scoring came in the first half of play. Shippensburg's Skylar Lambert finished a cross in the box from teammate Imogen Longcake in the 8' to put the Raiders ahead early.
Less than four minutes before halftime the Marauders answered as Aalivia Wainwright found a wide-open Savannah Rennix in front of the Raider net for her second score of the season.
The Marauders then outshot the Raiders in second half action 7-4, but neither group was able to convert a game-winner, leading to the eventual draw.
POSTGAME REACTION FROM HEAD COACH MATT PROCOPIO
Overall thoughts on the draw: "It was a back-and-forth game. We need to be better on the goal we conceded. We had opportunities that we still need to look to convert as well."
On preparing for No. 25 Bloomsburg: "We have a history with Bloomsburg, so we know what we face from them. We need to recover and go again."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Each team recorded 12 total shots. Ship held the edge in shots on frame, 6-5.
• The Marauders held an edge in corner opportunities, 7-5.
• Paulina Jordan led the group in shots with 4, and shots on goal with 3.
