EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team ended Wednesday night's match with East Stroudsburg in a 1-1 draw.
Scoring came at a premium in the midweek matchup as no team saw a ball gross the goal line until late in second-half play. A large part of that was due to the goalkeeper play, with each team recording seven saves. Reagan Kolinski stopped four Warrior shots before leaving with an injury and was replaced by Bella Fiorenza, who stopped three.
Millersville (1-4-2, 1-3-2) drew a corner at the 67' mark that was taken by Rachel Leisher, who bent a ball in off a Mansfield defender in last week's home win over the Mountaineers. Leisher made a similar play Wednesday night against East Storudsburg (5-1-2, 3-1-2), bending in a kick that was headed in by a Warrior defender, causing an own-goal and giving 'Ville a late lead.
The Marauders would hold that lead for just four minutes as Rebecca Kotula fired in a shot over the head of Fiorenza, who was able to get a hand on it, but couldn't bring it down before it fell in the net.
The score would remain locked at one for the remainder of the match, leading to the Marauders' second draw of the season.
POSTGAME REACTION FROM HEAD COACH STEVE WIDDOWSON
Overall thoughts on the result: "Thought we had a pretty good performance but needed to have a more complete game. We were a bit up and down."
On the defense: "Defensively we were good. They did have some good chances we need to address."
On Fiorenza's performance off the bench: "Bella was outstanding. The goal was a great shot, she still got a hand on it and apparently it just went over the line."

• East Stroudsburg outshot 'Ville 17-11, while each team sent in eight shots on-goal.
• The Marauders drew seven corners to the Warriors four.
