Women's golf places fourth at PSAC Championships

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Millersville women's golf team took fourth place out of the nine teams competing in this year's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. This marks the program's second consecutive top-four finish and third fourth-place in the last five years.
Millersville finished behind the tournament champion, Gannon by 75 strokes. The Golden Knights were followed by Mercyhurst in second and California (Pa.) in third. 'Ville finished ahead of West Chester, Kutztown, Bloomsburg, Clarion, and Seton Hill.
The Marauders saw their best round come on day-three, as the team shot a 333 (+45), topping their day-one (343; +55) and day-two (352; +64) scores. A large part of the team's low score in day three came from freshman, Emma Schotsch and Charly Kirby, who both shot their weekend-low on Sunday. Schotsch finished round three with a 77 (+5), tying with Sarah White of Gannon, the tournament champion, for the lowest round-three score. Kirby followed with an 81 (+9), improving on her day-two score by seven strokes.
Amanda Wolf also saw her best round come on the final day of the event, as the freshman shot an 85 (+13), six strokes lower than her previous two scores (91; +19). Wolf was followed by Taylor Hileman who shot a 90 (+18) and Cassandra Vogel who finished her final round with a 94 (+22).
Schotsch led the Marauders in the tournament, finishing in 13th place, while Kirby and Hileman followed, each earning a share of 16th place. Wolf placed 23rd and Vogel finished in a tie for 25th to round out the Marauder line-up.
