EDINBORO, Pa. – Multiple Marauders dominated day one of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, as
Darian Hauf and
Hannah Woelfling earned conference titles in the pole vault and weight throw.

Hauf won the pole vault with a height of 12-9 ½ breaking her own program record in the process. She hit the height on her third and final try.

Woelfling hit the championship mark on her first throw, as she owns the third-best distance in program history, winning the weight throw with a mark of 59-8 ¼. She edged out teammate and reigning PSAC champion
Aliyah Striver who took second with a distance of 55-7 ¾. Striver hit her mark on her sixth and final throw.

Hauf, Woelfling and Striver were all favorites in their respective events after the trio all earned PSAC Field Athlete of the Week honors throughout the season. A top three finish results in an automatic All-PSAC nomination as all three Marauders received the honor.

As a team, the Marauders sit in second place with 30 points. Meet host Edinboro University leads through day one with 39 points.

REACTION FROM HEAD COACH ANDY YOUNG:
On day one of the championship meet: "It was 45 degrees in the dome so a very uncomfortable day. Our athletes did a nice job of performing despite the lack of heat in this building."

On the top finishes in the field events: "Great day for Hannah and Aliyah. It's hard to maintain the top seed positions but they did. Darian with a new school record and a better NCAA mark winning the PV with a fantastic performance."
