Woelfling hits big PR, Hauf wins pole vault at Fastrack National Invitational

| By:
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Sophomore Hannah Woelfling smashed her PR with the third-best weight throw mark in program history, and Darian Hauf continued her top performances in the pole vault, winning the event against a deep field of 17 vaulters. Their performances highlighted the efforts of the Millersville's women's track and field team Saturday in the Fastrack National Invitational.

Woelfling hit an NCAA qualifying mark of 57-3 for a third-place finish in the weight throw, finishing behind only a pair of Division I throwers from Albany. Woelfling's toss was more than three feet better than her previous best, and it ranks second in the PSAC this season (behind teammate Aliyah Striver) and third in program history behind only Sunflower Greene and Striver. Striver finished right behind Woelfling in the weight throw, hitting 54-5 on her third attempt. She already holds an NCAA qualifying mark. In the shot put, Striver placed fifth, hitting 42-3 on her first attempt. Hannah Woelfling placed sixth with a distance of 40-0.

Hauf won the pole vault by clearing a height of 11-11 3/4, tying with Kutztown's Alexandra Tama. Those two vaulters own the PSAC's top two marks this season, and Hauf has now finished in first in three of four meets.

Abbey Sullivan ran a PSAC Championships qualifying time of 5:24.25 in the mile, placing 12th. In the sprints, Aurora Conrad came within .02 of a season-best time, running a 7.94 for eighth place in the 60-meter dash. Freshman Lindsay Solderitch missed a PSAC Championships qualifying time in the 400-meter dash by just 0.29. She finished with a PR of 1:00.79, which is a top-20 time in the PSAC this season.

In the long jump, Ashley Dodd jumped a PR of 16-8 to finish in 22nd. De'Asia Holloman, already with a PSAC qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles, ran a 9.42 and placed 16th.

The Marauders' distance medley relay team also ran a season-best time of 13:15.01, finishing in fifth place out of 11 finishing teams. The four-runner squad was comprised of Sullivan, Julia Fallows, Brianna Brennan and Morgan Janiuk

Millersville travels to the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 20, in what will be the team's final tune-up before the PSAC Indoor Championships.
