BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Millersville took care of business on the road on Friday night, defeating the Bloomsburg Huskies in four sets.
The Marauders (14-10, 4-5 PSAC) returned to the win column after dropping their last pair of conference matchups. Bloomsburg (5-17, 3-6 PSAC) saw its struggles at home continue as the team is now 1-4 at the Nelson Field House. The season series is now split between the teams, as the Huskies snuck away with a five-set win last month in Pucillo Gymnasium.
In the third set redshirt junior libero Becca Dalstad moved into tenth place in program history with her 1,114th dig, passing Kathy Howard who played from 2005-08. Next on the list is Dalstads former assistant coach, Erin Harman, who recorded 1,198 digs from 2012-15.
HOW IT HAPPENED
(25-14, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16)
"Our control was really good tonight. We started strong in each set with our passing which allowed us to run quick on offense and that helped stark an impressive hitting advantage in the first set and secured some confidence and belief in staying with our system and keep working to have a ball control advantage or work back to it when at times we struggled."
"We also served very well, had strong hitting numbers from Kylie and Rylee and Rose. Emma did a good job spreading the ball around and we did a pretty good job with net defense.
"Special shout-out to Becca who in our third set became the 10th all time digs player in program history and doing so in her third year of competition."
