MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The 2022 Millersville baseball team will start its season nationally ranked. The Collegiate Baseball preseason poll, compiled by Division II coaches, pegged the Marauders at No. 12.
Millersville closed the 2021 season ranked No. 28 in the same poll, going 30-15 and reaching the NCAA Atlantic Regional title game. Millersville was one of three PSAC teams ranked in the preseason poll's top 20 with Seton Hill landing at No. 11 and Mercyhurst at No. 19. Millersville has been ranked in the preseason poll in nine consecutive seasons and has closed the season ranked seven times since 2013.
Millersville returns six positions players that started at least 24 gams in 2021 including PSAC East Athlete of the Year
Bren Taylor, who hit .399 with a .500 on base percentage.
Luke Trainer was also a unanimous All-Atlantic Region First Team selection in 2021. The pitching staff returns 2021 PSAC East Pitcher of the Year
