The Marauders win four events at Mini-Dip Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Marauders saw split squad action on Friday, with half the team heading Lancaster to compete in the Mini-Dip Invitational, hosted by Franklin and Marshall University. There was no team finish in the event, but several Marauders made headlines as Millersville picked up four individual wins in the meet.
 
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • Aliyah Striver won the weight throw with a distance of 54-9 ¼.
  • Hannah Woelfling finished second with a distance of 54-2 ½.
  • Striver and Woelfling also took first and second in the shot put with distances of 44-9 ½. and 42-4 ¾ respectively.
  • Ashly Dodd took fifth in the long jump with a distance of 16 ½.
  • Maddie Stebila took fourth in the high jump at 4-11.
  • Heather Lesinski and Emma Elwell took first and second in the 60-meter dash with times of 8.13 and 8.15 seconds respectively.
  • Elwell would later beat Lesinski in the finals in the 60-meter, with times of 8.06 and 8.11 seconds as they switched places on the podium, still taking first and second in the event.
  • The Marauders would dominate the sprints again later, as Elwell (43.43) and Lindsay Solderitch (44.76) took second and third In the 300-meter,

The other half of the team drove to New York to compete in the Great Dane Classic, hosted by The University At Albany. A recap of that meet can be found here.
 
UP NEXT
The Marauders return to the track on Feb. 5 as they head to Reading for the Alvernia Invitational.
